The Oklahoma Sooners offensive line had arguably the worst day in pass protection of the modern era. They allowed nine sacks, which were an OU record. According to the initial stats, not one player on South Carolina’s defense recorded more than one sack. That means nine different players got to Oklahoma quarterbacks on Saturday.

We knew it was going to be a tough matchup for the Sooners, but they struggled to keep Hawkins, then Arnold clean. In addition to the nine sacks, Oklahoma allowed two more quarterback hurries and 13 tackles for loss.

What the offensive line has put on the field each of the last two weeks hasn’t been nearly good enough. It’s going to be hard for the offense to find any consistency if they can’t protect the quarterback.
