The Texas Longhorns’ running back depth has been tested during the 2024 campaign. While they have dealt with injuries, Quintrevion Wisner has emerged as a solid piece while putting together a career year. The talented sophomore is getting more playing time and taking advantage of his opportunities.
As the Longhorns have gotten off to a 6-1 start, Wisner has recorded 330 rushing yards on 60 carries. He averages 5.5 yards a carry and has found the end zone twice. The Glenn Heights native has also made an impact in through the air with 81 receiving yards.
With seven games in the books, Wisner leads the Longhorns in rushing yards and has shown he can handle a high workload. Last week against Georgia, he was the only Longhorns player with more than six rushing attempts. For a player who has had to fight for playing time, his impact has been a welcome surprise.

Last season, the Longhorns running back only got 12 carries, which he turned into 73 yards. Although he averaged 6.1 yards an attempt, he was unable to get consistent playing. This year, it has been a different story.
While leading the Texas rushing attack, Wisner has added one 100-yard game to his resume. That came earlier this month against the Oklahoma Sooners in a 34-3 win. Wisner showed he can be an impact piece when called upon in a conference game.
As the Longhorns look to build on their impressive start, Wisner should get plenty of carries for one of the best offenses in the country. With only five games left in the regular season, Wisner will be eager to prove that he is an important part of the future.
