The New England Patriots brought an end to a six-game losing streak on Sunday by knocking off the visiting New York Jets at Gillette Stadium.
Everything seemed to be working against them in the matchup. They were down multiple starters, including safety Kyle Dugger, who was ruled out with an ankle injury before the game. The locker room was flooded with outside noise, and Drake Maye, their prized rookie quarterback, went down with a head injury before halftime.
Despite endless waves of adversity, the Patriots stood strong and toppled a desperate Jets team led by legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers. It was a strong team victory that hopefully carries over to other games.

Marcus Jones struggled throughout the game in coverage against Jets wideout Garrett Wilson. It was an obvious mismatch that the Jets continued to exploit throughout the contest. Wilson benefitted from having Davante Adams occupying Christian Gonzalez, while he went to work against Jones.
However, it wasn’t all bad for Jones in the game. He did have a 62-yard punt return that set up a touchdown drive in the second half.

Before going down with a head injury, Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye was giving the Jets defense all sorts of problems. He had one Patrick Mahomes-like throw when rolling out that wasn’t caught, but it was right on the money to Tyquan Thornton.
The incredible poise in the pocket stood out especially for Maye, who constantly made the right reads and decisions with the ball. He even managed to score his first official NFL rushing touchdown in the game.

Ja’Lynn Polk struggled with drops last week for the Patriots. However, this week, it was veteran wideout Kendrick Bourne failing to haul in passes. There were multiple missed opportunities left on the field by Bourne in a game that should have been his first breakout performance since returning from his torn ACL.

So many people doubted Jacoby Brissett, but he continued to work behind the scenes in preparation for when the team might need him again. That moment came in Sunday’s game against the Jets after Drake Maye went down with a head injury. Brissett stepped under center and led a comeback victory against a…
