5 key questions for Week 9 matchup

It’s time for another rivalry game for the Los Angeles Rams, who will be on the road against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday afternoon. At 3-4, it’s a game the Rams would love to win and it could put them in first place in the NFC West if the Cardinals also lose this weekend.

To preview this pivotal game at Lumen Field, we caught up with Seahawks Wire editor Kole Musgrove and asked him five questions, including a prediction of who will win on Sunday. With DK Metcalf out, the Seahawks look like a different offense, so that could give the Rams an advantage in a key spot.

What’s been the biggest change on defense with Mike Macdonald taking over?

Seahawks Wire: I wish I had a more interesting insight to give you, but quite frankly, the Seahawks defense right now looks indistinguishable from last year. That… is not a good thing. They cannot adequately protect Geno Smith, nor can they get any kind of push up front to get the run game going. That is leading the Seahawks to have short, unsustainable drives, and putting their weak defense back on the field much longer than they have any business being out there.

What’s a weakness on defense that the Rams might be able to exploit?

Seahawks Wire: Seattle cannot stop a nosebleed on the ground right now. Once again, I point out the run defense. If the Rams commit to running the ball they will have a field day. It isn’t just elite running backs like Bijan Robinson who are gashing the Hawks, it has mainly been backups and third stringers who look…
