What is Penn State’s all-time record vs. Washington?

Penn State has played two of the Big Ten’s new members from the West Coast this season, and the Nittany Lions will face one more this weekend at home. After winning the first Big Ten contests with USC and UCLA earlier this season, Penn State will look to go 3-0 against new Big Ten members when it faces the Washington Huskies this Saturday night. This will be Washington’s first time traveling to State College, Pennsylvania.

Penn State is 3-0 all-time against Washington, but this will be just the second regular season meeting between the two schools. The first regular season meeting came in 1921 with Penn State winning in Seattle by a score of 21-7.

The second meeting did not occur until 1983 when Penn State faced Washington in the Aloha Bowl on the day after Christmas. Penn State won a low-scoring contest, 13-10, in Honolulu.

Penn State last faced Washignton in the 2017 Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona, and celebrated a 35-28 win. Saquon Barkley had the play of the game with a 92-yard touchdown run in the second quarter as Penn State built a 28-7 lead. Trace McSorley passed for 342 yards as the No 9 Nittany Lions topped the No. 12 Huskies. Barkley ended his final game in a Penn State uniform with 137 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns, and 38 receiving yards.

Penn State will come into this week’s game with a record of 7-1 after losing its first game of the season last week against Ohio State. Washington is coming off a win over USC that went down to the wire. The Huskies are 5-4 overall and 3-3 in Big Ten play this season after playing for the national championship last season. Penn State is a nearly two-touchdown favorite at home this week.

Penn State hosts Washington on Saturday, Nov. 19. The game kicks off at 8:00 p.m. and will air exclusively on the Peacock streaming platform.
