Broncos look to respond in Week 10 battle vs. Chiefs

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — In a 17-game season, there are plenty of opportunities to bounce back.

And as the Broncos head into a Week 10 matchup with an unbeaten divisional rival, the team will look to take advantage of an important chance.

“Obviously, last week didn’t go as planned,” cornerback Riley Moss said Wednesday. “But that’s the best thing about the NFL. We have 17 games to be able to prove who we are.”

After dropping their first game on the road since Week 1, the Broncos are set for another challenge on Sunday as the team heads to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs in what will be their second consecutive road matchup with an AFC opponent. And as the team looks forward to what may be one of their toughest challenges of the season to date, wide receiver Courtland Sutton believes that in order to find success this weekend, it will be important for the Broncos to put Sunday’s loss to bed.

“We’re going into another hostile environment this weekend, and you can’t dwell on it,” Sutton said. “… It’s something that I’m sure all of us have heard before. If you dwell on it too long, it’ll beat you twice. And that’s the last thing that we want.”

Despite Sunday’s loss being a “a hard pill to swallow,” Sutton noted there were still plenty of things to learn from the loss that will be beneficial as the team looks to continue to develop and improve this season. For rookie quarterback Bo Nix, recognizing both the bad and the good — and using it to the team’s advantage — will be an important part of this progression.

“You’ve got to take the good things you did at Baltimore, take the things you can learn from, and go into this game and not make the same mistakes over and over,” Nix said. “… We’re excited, [and] we’ve got a hungry locker room. And one game, one moment, one loss doesn’t define us.”
