Cowboys predicted to end up spending $47.8 million per 2024 win

Prediction the Cowboys’ 2024 record, game by game

The Dallas Cowboys are basically a monetary printing press for Jerry Jones. With so much hype over their stadium, the ridiculously good marketing he’s done over the years and the amount of vitriol opposing fans have for his organization, Jones has created a recession-proof business that stands alone among sports franchises. The brand is too big to fail, no matter how many protests fans attempt to organize.

There will likely never be a situation where the Cowboys are playing in front of empty stands; they are averaging a league-leading 93,000 fans per home game, and Dallas recently became the first team in history to trail by 20 or more points in their first four home games of the season. That’s a streak that goes further back, to their wild-card loss to Green Bay in January. But money? No problem. The Cowboys have spent $239 million on player salaries in 2024, and it doesn’t matter to Jones he isn’t getting bang for the buck.

Just how many wins will that amount of salary end up buying the Cowboys in 2024? After three straight 12-win seasons, the ROI in the win column may be lucky to see half that total. Our prediction? Dallas will end up spending over $47 million per win.

Here is a look back at how we thought things would go, have they’ve gone, and how we now view the rest of the 2024 schedule. Will Dallas be able to earn enough wins to return to the playoffs? A game-by-game prediction.
