Folks, it’s about time. The Mayor has returned. Boogie Roberts is officially back in spring ball, signing with the Memphis Showboats as they begin to make some moves here in the UFL offseason.
BREAKING: The Memphis Showboats are signing DL Boogie Roberts, sources tell @duckydisguised & I.
Roberts is a @USFLMaulers legend, posting 32 tackles, 8 TFL, & 3 sacks during a Championship run in 2023.

This transaction has been a long time in the making. It was absolutely shocking to see Boogie Roberts without a home in the UFL, having been cut in Training Camp with the DC Defenders.
Roberts is a spring football staple. He kicked off his spring career in the XFL in 2020, with the Los Angeles Wildcats. Boogie saw success that year, with 14 tackles and a fumble six in their week five comeback against the Vipers.

When the XFL shuttered, Boogie was left without a home. He made his way to the USFL’s Pittsburgh Maulers, totaling 24 tackles in 2022 as the Maulers were the worst team in the league with a 1-9 record.
However, Pittsburgh turned things around the next season, making a run all the way to the Championship. It was their defense that carried them all the way, and they were led by none other than Boogie Roberts on the interior.
Roberts ended up tallying 32 tackles, eight TFL’s, and three sacks with Pittsburgh in 2023. Even though he was injured down the stretch of the season, he pushed through the injury into the playoffs.
Truthfully, Roberts should’ve been named to the All-USFL list in 2023. It was a major surprise to have seen him left off of it.
