This week, the UFL had some local events down in Birmingham, mostly surrounding the Stallions. This included Skip Holtz appearing on a few local radio stations, and holding a fan event on Thursday evening which featured Coach Holtz, UFL President Daryl Johnston, and UFL CEO Russ Brandon.

Throughout the day, Skip Holtz was dropping nuggets of information regarding the Stallions – and the UFL. One of the most important things he covered: UFL roster sizes. While it appears that the regular season roster will remain at 50 players, 64 will be brought to Training Camp – as it stands right now.
On @WJOX945, Skip Holtz says #UFL camp rosters will be 64 players.
He expects about 40 Stallions from last year’s team to be back.#UFL x #GiddyUp 🐎

This is 11 less than what we saw in 2024. However, it makes sense – as 75 were only brought to Training Camp in the UFL because of the USFL-XFL merger that left hundreds without jobs. Now that we’re heading into season two, 64 is a more reasonable number, that allows for less cuts during Training Camp.
In addition, it seems like the Arlington hub-model will be sticking around for the foreseeable future. According to Holtz, the hub will likely be around for at least three years. Then, the league would look to move teams into their individual markets, and sell to ownership.
On @WJOX945, Skip Holtz says he thinks the #UFL DFW hub will be around for at least 3 years.
Says the league would like to move teams into their home markets after that before eventually selling them to owners.
Also says UFL could move from 8 to 10 teams in the next few years.
