Predicting final 6 game on Atlanta’s schedule

Predicting final 6 game on Atlanta’s schedule

The Atlanta Falcons have been more good than bad this season, as evidenced by their 6-5 record after the first 11 games. With a bye in Week 12, the Falcons have a chance to get healthy before their final six-game stretch to close out the year.

Despite a two-game losing streak, the team remains in first place within the NFC South and holds a 4-1 record against division opponents. If the Falcons want to secure their first postseason appearance in six years, they’ll need to take care of business over the final six games.

Here’s a look at all six remaining games on the schedule with a game/score prediction for each:

Week 13: Los Angeles Chargers (7-3)

Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

  • Date: Sunday, Dec, 1 at 1 p.m. ET
  • Prediction: The Chargers are undergoing a culture shift under head coach Jim Harbaugh and they’re getting hot at the right time. Considering what Bo Nix was able to do against Atlanta’s defense, Chargers QB Justin Herbert could have a big game. Los Angeles wins a close game over Atlanta. | Falcons 17, Chargers 23

Week 14: At Minnesota Vikings (8-2)

Quinn Harris-USA TODAY Sports

  • Date: Sunday, Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. ET
  • Prediction: The Vikings are doing well without Kirk Cousins but I don’t think they’re unbeatable. I like the Falcons to bounce back in Week 14 with an upset win over Minnesota. I think Cousins will outplay Sam Darnold in the fourth quarter and help the Falcons end a three-game losing streak. | Falcons 28, Vikings 27

Week 15: At Las Vegas Raiders (2-8)

Katie Stratman-Imagn Images

  • Date: Monday, Dec. 16 at 8:30 p.m. ET
  • Prediction: This is where the schedule softens up a bit. Atlanta will play another prime-time game in Week 15 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Could former Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder get a chance at redemption? Gardner Minshew hasn’t played well so we could potentially see Ridder face off against his old team. Atlanta will take care of business on the road. | Falcons 21, Raiders 13

Week 16: New York Giants (2-8)

Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

  • Date: Sunday, Dec. 22 at 1 p.m. ET
  • Prediction: The Giants are in a slump and just benched starting quarterback Daniel Jones. With Tommy DeVito taking over, New York is officially in tanking mode. I like the Falcons to win comfortably at home in Week 16. | Falcons 23, Giants
