Question: We don’t have a score to predict, but let’s still look at the future. Give me your honest, unbiased prediction for how Oregon’s season plays out. What happens over the next 2 months in Eugene?

As much as I hate to say it and risk jinxing things, I feel like this is a year where the Ducks can realistically go all the way. There are no dominant teams that really scare you a ton, so I think the field is wide open. If I were to predict things right now, the Ducks go undefeated, 16-0, and win it all. Now let me go find some wood and furiously knock on it for the next few minutes.

The most likely scenario is this. Oregon loses to Ohio State in the conference title game, wins their home playoff game and a Fiesta Bowl quarterfinals matchup before losing in the semifinals. But this team has as good of a chance to win the national title as anyone else and their best chance since Marcus Mariota was here. In any scenario, it’s going to be a fun and eventful time.

Maybe it’s naivety, but I really think Oregon goes the distance. Ohio State is the next best team in the country, and there’s a strong chance the Ducks lose in Indianapolis if the Buckeyes are their opponent. But even if Ohio State gives Oregon a 1 in the loss column, I think the Ducks will overcome and win out.
