GAME NOTES
• Michigan State played its school-record seventh night game of the season and fourth in East Lansing . . . MSU improves to 3-1 in night games in Spartan Stadium this season (wins over Florida Atlantic, Iowa and Purdue; loss to Ohio State).
 
• Friday also marked the 32nd night game in Spartan Stadium history but just the second in November, joining Nov. 8, 2014, vs. Ohio State . . . MSU improved to 23-9 all-time in night games in Spartan Stadium.
 
• Additionally, Michigan State improved to 10-0 at home under the Friday night lights since 2011 and 12-1 overall in Friday night games during that same span.
 
• The Spartans wore black pants, green jerseys and black helmets with a green Spartan head logo on them, marking the first time MSU has worn that uniform combination.
 
SERIES NOTES
• Friday’s game marked the 69th all-time meeting between Michigan State and Purdue . . . the Spartans now lead the all-time series, 37-29-3, winning nine of the last 10 meetings . . . Friday night was the first meeting in Spartan Stadium since 2018 and MSU has won six in a row against Purdue at home and is 23-12 against the Boilermakers all-time in East Lansing.
 
OFFENSE

• MSU scored on its first offensive possession for the sixth time this season and the third time with a touchdown . . . the Spartans are now 3-0 when scoring a touchdown on their opening possession, also doing so in the Maryland (9/7/24) and Prairie View A&M (9/14/24) games.
 
• Sophomore quarterback Aidan Chiles was 15-of-31 for 159 yards and two TDs . . . Chiles now has thrown two TDs in back-to-back games after his two TD tosses at Illinois last week and his third multiple TD game, joining his season-high three at Maryland (9/7/24).
 
• Redshirt junior running back Nathan Carter had a rushing and receiving TD in the same game for not just the first time of his collegiate career, but also the first by a Michigan State player since Sept. 18, 2021, when Jayden Reed had a rushing and receiving TD in the Spartans’ win at Miami (FL).
 
• After not having a receiving TD in his previous 21 games as a Spartan and 37 in his collegiate career, Carter now has a TD catch in back-to-back games after snaring the first of his career last week at Illinois (11/16/24).
 
• Carter finished with nine carries for 15 yards and a TD, while…
