7 Dolphins players with the strongest case

Voting for the 2025 Pro Bowl Games opened Monday and there are several Miami Dolphins deserving of a spot on the AFC’s 44-man roster.

Last year, the Dolphins had six players earn Pro Bowl honors: offensive tackle Terron Armstead, wide receiver Tyreek Hill, fullback Alec Ingold, running back Raheem Mostert, cornerback Jalen Ramsey, and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. But after a 2-6 start to the season that included a rough offensive stretch without Tagovailoa in the lineup, it could be hard for the Dolphins to get the same kind of representation this year.

However, a resurgent offense and some impressive showings on defense have pushed Miami back into the playoff picture. Here are seven Dolphins players with the strongest cases for spots in the 2025 Pro Bowl Games:

Four games on injured reserve hurt his case, but Tagovailoa’s play in his return to action is speaking volumes. He’s completing an NFL-best 73.3 percent of his passes with 13 touchdowns and four interceptions. Tagovailoa, Joe Burrow, and Lamar Jackson are the only three AFC quarterbacks averaging more than 250 passing yards per game, and they’re the only three in the conference with passer ratings above 100.

The Dolphins have made Achane their feature back in 2024 and he’s rewarded their faith with eight touchdowns in 11 games. While it’ll be tough to get in with Derrick Henry, Joe Mixon, James Cook, J.K. Dobbins, and Breece Hall among the other top AFC backs, Achane is the only player in the league with at least three rushing touchdowns and at least three receiving touchdowns.

After a slow start to the year, Smith is putting up big numbers with the Dolphins. His 535 receiving yards are fifth most in the NFL among tight ends and his four touchdowns are tied for fourth. Only two tight ends will get in from the AFC and it’s hard to imagine Travis Kelce not getting a nod. The other spot will likely go to Smith, Brock Bowers, or Mark Andrews.

Armstead has a reputation for struggling to stay healthy. But he’s only missed one game through the first 12 weeks of the season and he’s been stellar on the left side of the line. He’s one of only four offensive linemen in the NFL with a PFF grade above 90 and he’s credited with allowing zero sacks in 335 pass blocking…
