LOS ANGELES–USC punter Eddie Czaplicki has been named a Ray Guy Award finalist, today (Nov. 26).

Czaplicki is the best punter in the nation. He ranks first in the nation in net punting (46.44), and he is first in the nation in percentage of punts inside the 20 for punters with a minimum of 30 attempts.

Nine of his punts have been inside the 10 (including 3 versus UCLA), and 22 of his punts have been inside the 20. He has recorded zero touchbacks the entire season.

He has averaged over 50-yards in 4 games this season (55.3 vs. LSU, 53.1 vs. Michigan, 56.0 vs. Minnesota and 51.8 vs. Nebraska).

Nineteen of Czaplicki’s 36 punts have been over 50 yards (.528), including a season-long of 62 yards against Minnesota. He also recorded a career-high single game punting average of 53.1 yards against Michigan. Czaplicki has been instrumental in flipping the field and giving the Trojan defense great field position all season long.

He has been named a Ray’s 8 Award recipient three times this season.

USC has never had a Ray Guy Award winner.

The three finalists were chosen from a field of 10 semifinalists by a national voting body consisting of FBS sports information directors, national media and previous Ray Guy Award winners.

Voters will have the opportunity to vote again starting on Nov. 27 to determine the 2024 Ray Guy Award winner. The winner will be announced live on Thursday, Dec. 12 during The Home Depot College Football Awards on ESPN.

The Ray Guy Award will provide one additional vote as determined by football fans for one of the three finalists. The Fan Vote will be located on the Ray Guy Award website beginning Nov. 27 and is equivalent to one national selection committee member’s vote.
