5 players to watch from the Bucs against the Panthers in Week 13

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have an easier schedule following their Bye Week, which started with the New York Giants. They dominated that game, but now they turn towards a divisional opponent who can serve as a trap game for them.

In Week 13, the Bucs travel to Carolina to secure a divisional win against the Panthers, which will help them advance toward the playoffs.

The defense thrived against the Giants and made sure that Tommy DeVito had no time to operate smoothly. They are expected to do the same against the Panthers with their rebuilding offensive line and skiddish quarterback. Of course, on offense, Mike Evans being back a second week will help his return to normal production but last week was a good start.

Who else can we expect a productive week from besides Mike Evans? Here are five names to watch for the Bucs against the Panthers on Sunday.

Antoine Winfield Jr. has yet to find that magical spark that he has found routine through the years. The lack of magic, so to speak, has led to others on defense making plays in a sporadic fashion. The Bucs need his consistent playmaking ability to be back; perhaps it can against the Panthers.

Cade Otton

Cade Otton emerged as a favorite and reliable target for Baker Mayfield within the Bucs’ passing offense. The tight end had just one catch on Sunday against the New York Giants, but against the Panthers, he should hope to have a little more. His involvement in the pass game opens the run game up and takes attention away from Mike Evans, so it is a win-win scenario for everyone.

Calijah Kancey

East Rutherford, NJ — November 24, 2024 — Tommy DeVito of the Giants gets hit after he threw this pass by Calijah Kancey of Tampa Bay in the fourth quarter. DeVito was injured and came out of the game for one play as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers came to MetLife Stadium and defeated the New York Giants…
