Free agency has helped take pressure off Jets in draft

The New York Jets dismissed Joe Douglas as general manager more than a week ago. However, because the team went into their bye right after, we’ve only now started to gear reactions to the news.

Douglas had a lot of support from Gang Green’s locker room despite being fired.

As is usually the case, quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ response was one that caught the most attention. This time it’s for a legitimate reason.

During his weekly chat with the “Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers pulled the curtain back more than most did on what went down. According to the QB, a helicopter landed at 1 Jets Drive during a workout the team was having before leaving New York for their bye.

Rodgers knew that was not normal.

“I was like, ‘damn, I hope it’s not Joe,’” Rodgers said.

Words on Douglas came from the likes of interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich, linebacker CJ Mosley and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams.
