Ty Robinson and seven other Nebraska players earn All-Big Ten honors

Earlier this week, the Big Ten Conference announced the award winners and All-Big Ten selections ahead of this weekend’s conference championship game between the Oregon Ducks and Penn State Nittany Lions.

All together there were six All-Big Ten teams, three media teams, and three coaches teams plus honorable mentions. Those selections included eight Nebraska Cornhusker athletes, however, only one earned a spot on the first, second, or third teams by either the media or coaches.

That lone selection is defensive lineman Ty Robinson. Seven Huskers would end up receiving All-Big Ten honorable mention honors as well, while Javin Wright was the Huskers’ nominee for the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.

This season, the Nebraska Cornhuskers in their second season under head coach Matt Rhule went 6-6 in the regular season. While the Huskers lost five of their last six games, they were still able to secure bowl eligibility for the first time in eight years. Each of the eight players below played a pivotal role in the program snapping their postseason drought.
