Moore, Swift questionable for Sunday’s matchup vs. 49ers

Brown added that Moore and Swift participated in two to three plays per period during Friday’s practice to “ease those guys back into it and see how they feel.”

Three players have already been ruled out of Sunday’s contest including running back Roschon Johnson, who is in concussion protocol after leaving last Thursday’s game in Detroit.

With Johnson out and Swift questionable, Brown said the offense will look to running back Travis Homer for production. The pair have a longstanding relationship as Brown recruited Homer to play at the University of Miami and coached him for three years.

“He’s always been dependable,” Brown said of Homer. Really involved in third-down but also two-minute. Will kinda take a bigger role this week as far as being more involved than the normal [down and distance] process.”

Homer has appeared in eight games this season, primarily playing on special teams.

Other players ruled out for Sunday are guard Ryan Bates (concussion) and safety Elijah Hicks (ankle), both of whom will miss their second consecutive game.

Receiver Keenan Allen (ankle), safety Kevin Byard III (shoulder), center Coleman Shelton (knee) and right tackle Darnell Wright (knee) were all limited in action earlier this week, but practiced in full Friday and do not have injury designations for Sunday’s contest.
