Cardinals’ chances of winning NFC West near zero

Cardinals’ chances of winning NFC West near zero

Just three weeks ago, the Arizona Cardinals looked like they were going to run away with the NFC West. Now they might have to battle to stay out of last place.

With a 30-18 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, their chances of winning the NFC West have dropped to almost zero.

As noted on the pregame show for the Sunday night game between the L.A. Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs on NBC, the Cardinals had a 28% chance of winning the NFC West. Because of the loss to the Seahawks, putting them two games behind Seattle in the standings and losing the head-to-head tiebreaker, their chances dropped to 4%.

The Seahawks’ chances jumped from 44% entering the week to 59% with the win.

The L.A. Rams, with their win over the Buffalo Bills, improving to 7-6, had a 21% chance of winning the division. Now that is 33%. Even the San Francisco 49ers, now 6-7 with a Week 14 win over the Chicago Bears, have a 44% chance of winning the division.
