COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Maryland football team held its annual awards banquet Sunday afternoon at The Hotel in College Park. Members of the 2024 Terrapins team, coaching staff, administration, support staff and families were in attendance for the special event.
The long-time voice of the Terrapins, Johnny Holliday, emceed the event. The evening started off with remarks from Barry P. Gossett Director of Athletics Damon Evans and then the coaching staff began handing out the hardware. A full list of all award winners is noted below.
The evening concluded with a recognition of the senior class and then closing remarks from Maryland head coach Michael Locksley, who also announced the three permanent captains of this year’s football team. Wide receiver Tai Felton, running back Roman Hemby and defensive back Dante Trader Jr. were voted by their teammates as the representatives for the 2024 team.
Felton was selected as the Ray Krouse Memorial Award winner, given to the teams Most Valuable Player. Felton was also chosen as Maryland’s Offensive Player of the Year, while Trader Jr. won the honor for defense.
