It’s been a busy holiday season for the DC Defenders in UFL free agency, and fans just got another early Christmas gift. WR Ty Scott has re-signed with the team, returning for a second stint with DC after an impressive rookie campaign.

Ty Scott led the @XFLDefenders with 418 receiving yards in the #UFL, alongside three touchdowns. He was clutch throughout the year, averaging 16.7 YPR.

For the Defenders receiving core, this is big news. Ty Scott was absolutely tremendous for DC in 2024, leading the team with 418 receiving yards on just 25 receptions – scoring three touchdowns along the way.
Scott was an intriguing story in DC this year. He was grossly underutilized the first several weeks, despite showing up in multiple clutch moments for the Defenders. For example, Scott caught the go ahead touchdown for DC in their week two win against Houston.

Even then, Ty didn’t become a starter until week eight of the regular season. Not only that, but Scott was only targeted 12 times through the first six games.
