Seahawks Defensive Rally Not Enough After Packers Built Lead

After the game, Devon Witherspoon put it plainly, “They came out and ran the football down our throat. That’s all. Nothing crazy. We have to do better.”

Jacobs was used early and often for the Packers to build their lead.

“It was just a lot of movement,” Julian Love said on how Jacobs was able to find success. “I think it allowed (Josh) Jacobs to hit the hole pretty quick, and it was getting on our safety, getting in on me, especially Coby in that first half early, it was getting on him. I’m not sure kind of what they saw and what we were doing, but we shifted. Obviously, Mike (Macdonald) saw something. It was shifted, what we were doing. We were able to kind of bottle them up, going after that first quarter, first half.”

After halftime, the defense was playing more like the defense that helped Seattle win their last four matchups, and while Seattle’s defense wasn’t able to put a lock on Green Bay’s offense completely, they were able to hold Green Bay to just a field goal and a late fourth quarter touchdown.
