Twitter reacts to gut-wrenching injury to Texans WR Tank Dell

The Houston Texans still have at least three more games to play in 2024. They might be doing so without Tank Dell.

The star second-year receiver suffered what appeared to be a knee injury during Saturday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs while hauling in a 30-yard touchdown pass from C.J. Stroud. As he hit the turf, fellow receiver Jared Wayne collided his knee as he maintained possession.

Dell needed immediate medical assistance and was later placed on a stretcher and carted off to the locker room. Wayne and second-year quarterback C.J. Stroud were emotionally shaken up by the play and needed to be consoled by teammates as Dell was being loaded into the cart.

Saturday could mark the second time that Dell suffered a late season-ending injury. Last December, fractured his fibula and missed the remaining five weeks of the season and the playoffs.

Fans watching from home couldn’t hold back their emotions as the second-year pass-catcher was being carted off. He was having his best game of the season before the injury, totaling six catches for 98 yards and a touchdown.
