This Bucs defense needs help, bigtime

Bucs add depth in the trenches

The 2025 NFL Draft is months away, but the Bucs are now back to being on the outside looking in of the playoffs. Lots of players, especially the rookies, showed what they were capable of, but we need more consistent play.

The team’s positional needs heading into the season include edge rushers, tight end, guard, wide receiver depth, and the secondary. For the Bucs’ benefit, those positions are more profound than usual this upcoming draft cycle. The team could easily find starters at various draft spots and rounds to fill those needs.

We aren’t starting things off with any trades in this mock draft. Instead, according to Tankathon, we will use the draft order heading into Monday Night Football. We will also use the PFF mock draft simulator to make the picks and utilize their player pool.

Let the fun begin with a difference-maker on the defensive side of the ball everyone should be excited about.

Indiana wide receiver Elijah Sarratt, right, catches a pass in the end zone for a 2-point conversion with Notre Dame safety Xavier Watts (0) defending during the first round of the College Football Playoff between Notre Dame and Indiana at Notre Dame Stadium on Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, in South Bend.

Xavier Watts showed this past weekend what type of plays he is capable of for the Notre Dame defense. His interception on the first Indiana drive set the course for them for the rest of the game.
