Aaron Rodgers did not sound too opposed to taking a seat against the Bills in Week 17.
The Jets (4-12) were blown out by the Bills (13-3) in a 40-14 final.
Rodgers put up no points while in the game. Then he eventually was pulled from the contest once the Bills went up 40-0.
Asked about being essentially benched, Rodgers not only said he was OK about it… he said he might have been the one to suggest it first.
“I mean it was 33-0, we were sitting there and I said, at some point, probably go to Tyrod,” Rodgers said.
The Jets did exactly that.
That’s some interesting note for a guy that has an unknown future with his team. Backup QB Tyrod Taylor ended up throwing two touchdown passes after Rodgers left, albeit against the backup defense for the Bills.
Rodgers’ comments can be found in the clip below:
Aaron Rodgers revealed to the media that he instigated his own benching in the fourth quarter during a sideline conversation w/ #Jets interim HC Jeff Ulbrich.
