Bucs open as favorites in NFC wild-card round

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Washington Commanders 37-20 back in Week 1. That game was played on Sept. 8 — five months ago. Much has changed since that day. The Commanders would only lose four more games, finishing 12-5, winning their last five games, and going into the playoffs as the NFC’s No. 6 seed. Things have changed for the Buccaneers, too. After dealing with some injuries around the midseason mark and falling to 4-6, Tampa Bay rallied to win six of their final seven games to finish 10-7 and win the NFC South. Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels put together the greatest rookie season for a quarterback in NFL history. At times, Daniels carried the Commanders on his back. Meanwhile, Tampa Bay quarterback Baker Mayfield continued his career renaissance, passing for a career-high 4,500 yards and 41 touchdowns. So, who is the favorite heading into next week’s wild-card showdown on Sunday Night Football? Unsurprisingly, the Bucs, who are playing at home, are the early favorites over the Commanders. Here are the betting lines for Sunday’s highly-anticipated Week 1 rematch, according to BetMGM: Moneyline (ML)
  • Commanders +150
  • Buccaneers -185
Against the spread (ATS)
  • Commanders +3 (+100)
  • Buccaneers -3 (-120)
