Houston Roughnecks Sign Morgan Ellison & Avery Jones

Oliver Luck Sues Vince McMahon for Wrongful Termination

The Houston Roughnecks continue to add pieces to their roster. RB Morgan Ellison and C Avery Jones have agreed to terms with the team for the 2025 UFL season, just days after ZaQuandre White & Rayshad Williams joined the squad.

It’s been a busy offseason for GM Will Lewis, retooling this roster as Houston looks to turn things around after a 1-9 campaign in 2024. Let’s take a look at their latest additions from this Monday:

RB Morgan Ellison

It was only a matter of time before Morgan Ellison found a new home. He’s been in the spring scene for the past couple of seasons, with the Sea Dragons and Brahmas.

Ellison was with the Sea Dragons in 2023, and played quite well, although injuries hampered what was a productive season. He rushed for 254 yards and a touchdown, having one of the highest PFF grades of the year for Seattle.

He’s a downhill back, who has tremendous breakaway speed when he gets into open space. Morgan was originally picked up by the Arlington Renegades during the dispersal draft process, but surprisingly did not make it through the first round of cuts.
