Ball Tracking

Anytime you can have a safety who finds the ball, you have a difference-maker on defense. For Texas in 2024, Mukuba proved to be the biggest difference maker on defense, and it swayed the momentum of the game towards them time and again all year. He is truly a difference-maker with his ability to find the ball through the air or on the ground.

Zone Coverage

Andrew Mukuba is used more often than not in Texas’s zone coverage. It allows him to show that the coaching staff trusts him to make plays, and he seldom lets them down in that area. He is able to create chaos when he is put in zone coverage, and offenses actively try to avoid him.

Instincts

For a safety to accumulate 17 pass breakups, six interceptions, and 54 defensive stops in their career, they have to have instincts. Andrew Mukuba shows on every single play he not only understands what the offense is throwing at him but he prepares for it. It is the latter part there that teams are going to realize and enjoy when they meet and watch him.
