The New York Jets have interviewed another former NFL head coach for their vacant job in their effort to find a new bench boss.
The team has announced that Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator and former Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy has spoken with the team in New York:
We have completed an interview with Matt Nagy for our Head Coach position.

Nagy, 46, is looked upon by some as a head coach and someone better suited as a coordinator.
However, Nagy had a 34-31 record while head coach in Chicago and managed to bring the Bears to the playoffs twice. In addition, during his tenure from 2018 to 2021, Nagy only had one losing season out of four.
Prior to his stint with the Bears, he was Kansas City’s offensive coordinator. He returned to that role after he was fired in Chicago.
New York’s last head coach, Robert Saleh, was fired on Oct. 8. The team was 2-3 at the time, named Jeff Ulbrich the interim, and the Jets ended up with a 5-12 record.
After letting Saleh go, the Jets announced that a group from the The 33rd Team, a football media, analytics and consulting media outlet would assist team owner Woody Johnson in their search for a new general manager and head coach. That group was founded by former Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum and ex-Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman.
