Packers LB Edgerrin Cooper named NFC Rookie of the Month

Since returning from injury, few rookie defenders have played better than Green Bay linebacker Edgerrin Cooper over the past month. His production has earned him the NFC Rookie of the Month recognition from the NFL.

Cooper has been a standout on special teams and as a rotational linebacker from mid-December to early January. He is just beginning to showcase his talent and is making a strong case for a full-time starting position. Over the last four weeks, he has achieved 35 tackles, 1 sack, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 1 interception.

The Green Bay Packers will need Cooper at his best when they face the Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs on January 12.

They are looking to make a deep postseason run, and Cooper’s speed will be an asset in trying to corral the elusive Saquon Barkley, which is not easy.
