Last weekend, the Memphis Showboats re-signed DL P.J. Hall to the roster. He was a solid piece for Memphis, despite the defensive struggles they saw throughout most of the year.

P.J. Hall has been around the block in the professional football scene, both in the NFL and also in spring football.
Hall played his collegiate ball at Sam Houston State, where he was a standout product that posted 280 tackles and 36.5 sacks across five seasons. Due to P.J.’s dominance, he was sought after by multiple NFL organizations coming out of college.
P.J. Hall signed with the Oakland Raiders, and saw instant success. Through two years with the Raiders, he started in 18 of 30 games played, notching 48 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

From there, Hall had a one year stint with the Houston Texans. He played in ten games, making nine starts, finishing the season with 34 tackles and one sack.
P.J. made his way to the XFL in 2023, spending time with the Sea Dragons and Brahmas. He didn’t see much production, but eventually landed on the Showboats roster ahead of the inaugural UFL campaign. Hall had 10 tackles and a sack with Memphis in 2024, posting an impressive 84.3 Defensive Grade via PFF.
While P.J. Hall has been brought back, it’s clear that the Showboats will look a lot different in 2025. GM Jim Monos has cut dozens of players, and Memphis has chosen to not re-sign 16 players from this past roster so far:
