LSU football head coach Brian Kelly reportedly let go of a staff member and former Tiger.
Former running back Nick Brossette is no longer with LSU after serving as the Director of Alumni Relations and High School outreach for three seasons. According to the report, a single incident led to his dismissal and he was blindsided by the decision.
Brossette, who played high school football in Baton Rouge, made 47 appearances over four years donning the purple and gold. He earned the starting role as a senior in 2018, totaling 1,117 yards from scrimmage. After going undrafted in 2019, Brossette signed with the Patriots but never saw regular season time.
His hiring came at a time when people questioned Kelly’s ability to recruit the local area and Louisiana as a whole. Brossette’s hiring signaled a commitment to securing homegrown talent. In his LSU career, Brossette played under Les Miles and Ed Orgeron while earning a degree in sports leadership.
