The Rams came back from a 1-4 start to the season and won the NFC West, becoming one of the improbable teams to overcome such a poor start. They never gave up hope of making the playoffs, winning nine of their last 12 games to clinch their berth in the dance.
Their performance against the Eagles was similar to how their season went. They overcame a big deficit when they fell behind 28-15, with Barkley’s 78-yard touchdown run looking like the nail in the coffin.
But once again, the Rams didn’t give up. They drove 70 yards down the field in 1:48, scored a touchdown to make it 28-22 and got a quick three-and-out on defense. They had a legitimate shot to pull off one of the craziest comebacks in playoff history, reaching the Eagles’ 21-yard line before failing on fourth down.
Things didn’t go their way all night, but they nearly overcame costly mistakes and the adversity that came with them. That’s the sign of great coaching and an even better culture.
