The Colorado Buffaloes football team succeeded on the field and in the classroom under head coach Deion Sanders last semester. This past week, it was announced that the Buffs’ team grade point average surpassed 3.0 for the first time in program history, landing at 3.011.
In a video posted by Colorado football’s official X account, Kris Livingston, CU’s executive senior associate athletic director for student success, gave Coach Prime the good news. This also marks the third straight semester the Buffs have set a new record for team GPA.
Sanders spent time during the video handing out compliments to Livingston and her staff for the success of the team in the classroom:
“She makes it happen.” Coach Prime said. “She has a wonderful staff that is unbelievable. But we focus on these kids because not all of them are going to the NFL, but they’re going to be professionals.”
Livingston also pointed out the impact Sanders had on the team:
“It helps tremendously when coaches, like Coach Prime, hold the guys accountable,” Livingston said. “He sets a high standard and holds them accountable, and we can’t do what we want to do without you.”
