After putting together an extremely long list of first interviews in search of a head coach, the New York Jets are finally lining up a second conversation.
According to multiple reports including NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Jets and Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn will have a second interview relating to their vacant head coach position:
#Lions DC Aaron Glenn, one of the top coaching candidates, is set for an in-person, second interview with the #Jets, per me and @MikeGarafolo.

Glenn, 52, has spent 11 years as a coach in the NFL including his past four in Detroit as DC. He had his first interview in New York on Jan 11.
In 2024, the Lions defense allowed only 20.1 points per game, despite a slew of injuries, which was the seventh-best total in the NFL.
Glenn has long been a fan favorite for the job because of his past connections to the Jets.
As a player, Glenn was New York’s first-round pick in 1994. The defensive back was with the team until 2001. Prior to joining the NFL’s coaching ranks, Glenn spent two seasons (2012-13) in the Jets’ front office as pro personnel scout and area scout as well.
As noted by Rap Sheet, despite Glenn having a second interview, he still will be coveted by other teams around the NFL.
Reports are conflicting in terms of when Glenn will have his next interview in New York. It’s reportedly either Monday or Tuesday.
Jets Wire will provide interview updates as information is made available.
