The 2024 season marked the start of a new era for the Alabama Crimson Tide after hiring Kalen DeBoer to fill the shoes of the retired legend Nick Saban. While a 9-4 record won’t cut it moving forward, there were plenty of positives to take away from DeBoer’s first year in charge.
After a 4-0 start with wins at Wisconsin and against Georgia, things started to slip as the Tide was 5-4 the remainder of the season including an ugly bowl loss against Michigan. However, some massive wins on the recruiting trail combined with some key players returning for the 2025 season should give Alabama fans a lot of optimism in the off-season.
Every week during the season, USA TODAY Sports ranks all Division One teams from 1-134, and with last night’s national title concluding the 2024 season, they have released their final standings. The Crimson Tide finished the year at No. 21 in their rankings, dropping eight spots from the previous ranking before the start of bowl season.
Auburn finished 86th on the list with only a handful of Power Four teams ranked below them. No. 6 Texas, No. 7 Georgia and No. 10 Tennessee were the only three SEC members to finish the year in the top ten.
Alabama will kick off their 2025 campaign with a road trip to Florida State.
