Recapping Colorado football’s offseason transfer portal movement

It has been about 10 days since Colorado football landed a transfer portal commitment, with former Ole Miss offensive lineman Mana Taimani marking head coach Deion Sanders’ most recent pickup. Now that we’ve had some time to breathe, an updated look at the Buffaloes’ winter transfer portal additions and losses is in order.

To be clear, Coach Prime is likely far from finished bolstering his 2025 roster. Another 10-day transfer portal window is coming in April, and if recent history serves, the Buffs will be active players once the dust settles.

  • Kaidon Salter (Liberty transfer)

OUT:

  • Destin Wade (committed to North Alabama)
  • Walter Taylor III (committed to Ball State)

The Buffs lost a pair of backups to the transfer portal while bringing in Kaidon Salter, who will compete with incoming freshman Julian Lewis for Colorado’s starting job.

Colorado hasn’t lost or gained any running backs via the transfer portal this offseason, but that will likely change. Coach Prime is also searching for a new RBs coach, with Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk reportedly being a top candidate.
