If a report from Tuesday was true, the New York Jets did not pull of the plan they had.
The Jets had their first round of second interviews regarding their vacant head coach and general manager positions. Those took place on Tuesday with Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn and Washington Commanders assistant general manager Lance Newmark.
Reportedly the plan on New York’s side of the table was get the pair of them to sign on the dotted line before they left the building following that second round of conversations.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, that did not happen:
Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn and Commanders assistant GM Lance Newark, both of whom interviewed in person today with the Jets, have left the team’s training facility, per sources.

Glenn and Newmark both previously worked together with the Lions. That connection has most assuming the Jets want the pair to join together.
That could be the case still, but it is worth noting both have been connected to other open positions around the NFL.
Most notably, Glenn is slated for a second interview with the New Orleans Saints later this week.
Despite the update that both had left New York, it’s still far from over. Glenn and Newmark are still in play.
