Reid and Louis Among Top 100 College Football Players in Latest Ranking

PITTSBURGH—Adding to their numerous accolades, RB Desmond Reid and LB Kyle Louis were each named to ESPN’s top 100 college football players of the 2024 season.

Reid, who came in at No. 94 on the list, and Louis, who ranked No. 86, were selected by ESPN’s committee of Bill Connelly, David Hale, Chris Low, Max Olson, Adam Rittenberg and Paolo Uggetti.

Reid finished with 966 rushing yards, 579 receiving yards and 159 punt return yards with 10 total touchdowns, solidifying himself as one of the country’s most impactful all-around players. “Few players were as elusive in 2024, and few made a bigger all-around impact,” wrote Hale. Hale also noted in the past two decades, Clemson’s C.J. Spiller is the only other FBS player with a 900/500/150 yardage split and a touchdown in each category in the same season.

Louis was arguably the most versatile linebacker in college football last season, according to Hale. He notched 105 tackles, four interceptions, forced a fumble, and had 15.5 tackles for loss, 7.0 sacks, 27 pressures and nine QB hurries. He became Pitt’s first sophomore defensive player to earn First Team All-America from an NCAA-recognized selector since Hugh Green in 1978.

Pitt football season tickets start as low as $230 for seven games in 2025. For more information, go to PittsburghPanthers.com, call (800) 643-7488 or email tickets@athletics.pitt.edu.
