Jayden Daniels named AP Offensive Rookie of the Year finalist

Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels wasn’t supposed to be this good — at least not yet. He wasn’t expected to have much success this season, and many felt that he would struggle to remain poised in the pocket, which would lead to mistakes and turnovers. None of that thas happened, though, as the Commanders are set to make their first appearance in the NFC Championship game since 1991.

Instead, Daniels took the league by storm with his athleticism and smooth transition to the professional game. He has done it with his arms and his legs, he’s helped motivate his teammates on both sides of the ball, and he and Dan Quinn have partnered to become the best thing to happen in Washington in a very long time.

For those efforts, Quinn has been named an AP Coach of the Year finalist, and Daniels was named an AP Offensive Rookie of the Year finalist.

After finishing the season with over 3,500 passing yards, 891 yards on the ground, and 31 total touchdowns, Daniels continues to perform at an elite level in the postseason. Through two games, he has 563 passing yards, four passing touchdowns, and 87 yards on the ground. And he’s not done yet.

The Commanders visit the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday at 3 pm EDT at Lincoln Financial Stadium in the NFC Championship game.
