Over the weekend, the Memphis Showboats made two big additions to their roster for the upcoming UFL season. RB Jacob Kibodi and DB Mark Gilbert have agreed to terms with Memphis, bringing some serious talent and potential to the organization.

One thing was clear for Memphis this offseason: both the offense and defense needed a legitimate overhaul. The Showboats have cleared out their running back room, adding three brand new pieces for Training Camp.
Jacob Kibodi is the latest of those pickups, and might be the most exciting. Jacob began his college career at Texas A&M, playing there for three seasons – but didn’t see a ton of action. With the Aggies, Kibodi posted 270 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
It wasn’t until Jacob made his way to Louisiana that he saw more production. In his senior season in 2023, Kibodi racked up 729 rushing yards and seven scores.

This led to an NFL opportunity with the New Orleans Saints. Kibodi rushed for 71 yards and two touchdowns in the preseason, and ended up landing on the Saints’ practice squad. He stayed there until early December – and then moved to the Browns PS as they snagged him off of waivers.
Kibodi was actually active for Cleveland’s week 18 loss against Baltimore, rushing for 24 yards on the day.
