PITTSBURGH—Coming off highly-acclaimed 2024 seasons, RB Desmond Reid and LB Kyle Louis were each named to ESPN’s 2025 Way-Too-Early All-America Team.
Reid, who made the list as an all-purpose player, and Louis were chosen based on input from anonymous college coaches, NFL scouts and reporters from around the country. The predictions were not based on returning players with the best statistics, but rather their projection to be most impactful at their positions in 2025.
Clemson and Ohio State topped the list with three first-team selections each, while Pitt, Alabama, Penn State, Michigan and Notre Dame followed with two.
Referred to as ‘the quintessential all-purpose running back’ on the list, Reid finished 2024 with 966 rushing yards, 579 receiving yards and 159 punt return yards. He scored touchdowns three ways (four rushing, five receiving and one on a punt return) and averaged 154.9 all-purpose yards per game, the most among all returning players.
After earning First Team All-America honors a year ago, Louis is predicted to do so again in 2025. ‘Louis returns for his redshirt junior season as one of the most disruptive defenders in the country,’ noted ESPN. He notched 105 tackles, four interceptions, forced a fumble, and had 15.5 tackles for loss, 7.0 sacks, 27 pressures and nine QB hurries last season.
The Panthers will host seven games this fall, including four conference opponents and last year’s CFP runner-up, Notre Dame, on Nov. 15.
Pitt football season tickets start as low as $230 for seven games in 2025. For more information, go to PittsburghPanthers.com, call (800) 643-7488 or email tickets@athletics.pitt.edu.
