Former Patriots coach Bill Belichick picked JuJu Smith-Schuster over Jakobi Meyers in the 2023 season, and it has been one of the worst decisions in franchise history. Smith-Schuster had 29 catches for 260 yards with the Patriots, while Meyers had 71 catches for 807 yards with the Las Vegas Raiders. Meyers then went on to eclipse 1,000 yards receiving in 2024.
With that said, Smith-Schuster has stepped up in key moments for the Chiefs, particularly in the AFC Championship Game when he hauled in two catches for 60 yards.
They’ve found better uses for him than New England, and it has aided them in their efforts to three-peat as Super Bowl champions. There are a lot of mouths to feed on the offensive side of the ball in Kansas City, but Smith-Schuster is a veteran who plays his role well.
