In one of their biggest splashes of the UFL offseason, the Houston Roughnecks have signed QB Anthony Brown to the roster. As Houston looks to rewrite the script after a 1-9 season, this is an excellent step in the right direction; bringing in someone of Brown’s caliber.

Prior to this move being made, the Roughnecks featured one of the weaker quarterback rooms in the UFL. Young prospects in Nolan Henderson and Davius Richards both have potential – but haven’t proven much, or anything, at the professional stage quite yet. Jalan McClendon has some more experience; but even then, he doesn’t have a lot of success in his spring football background, either.
This is where Anthony Brown comes into play. Brown had a stellar college career – and has spent the last couple of years in the NFL, including a stint with the Buffalo Bills this past January.
Anthony began his college career at Boston College, spending four years there (playing three seasons). While Brown flashed plenty of potential there – and saw some success – he had two season ending injuries that impacted his ability to stay healthy for a full year. In 2020, he transferred to Oregon, but was primarily a backup his first year.
