Among the candidates that had been reported interviewees for this role, Kelly had not been mentioned up until this point.
Kelly got his start at the NFL level back in 2007 as a college scout with the Denver Broncos. He would then work his way up to the Assistant director of pro personnel role with Denver from 2010-2014.
Kelly then joined the Chicago Bears as the Director of pro scouting from 2015-2016 and then as the Assistant director of player personnel from 2017-2021.
Most recently, Kelly has been with the Raiders as their assistant general manager, and stepped in as the interim general manager in 2023 when the team fired David Ziegler.
In addition to announcing that the team had interviewed Kelly, the Jaguars also announced that this was their final virtual interview. They will trim their list of 10 candidates down and hold in-person interviews next week.
