The Saints have added another former Eagle to the coaching staff, hiring Ted Rath as director of sports science. Philadelphia fired Rath, their vice president of player performance last summer.
Rath oversaw the team’s sports science and strength and conditioning staff. He joined the Eagles during the 2020 offseason as director of sports performance and was promoted to vice president the following year.

Rath — perhaps best known as Sean McVay’s original “get back” coach — was most recently the #Eagles’ director of sports performance. Now, he follows Kellen Moore to New Orleans. pic.twitter.com/rh5PP7Sxj2

Rath previously worked for the Rams, Dolphins, and Lions. In Los Angeles, he also became known as Rams coach Sean McVay’s “get-back guy” because he often kept the coach from straying too far onto the field.
Rath joined the Rams after eight seasons as a Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions assistant.
Rath likes to utilize analytics, wellness checks, and recovery plans to keep players healthy while using a digital questionnaire—similar to a short quiz—to stay updated on his players’ health.
