Media Pundits Preview Potential Standouts at NFL Scouting Combine

AI compiles list of Vikings draft targets

There’s no replacing the legwork done by NFL scouts.

They watch tens of thousands of plays, break down and grade hundreds of prospects and help fuel franchise decision-makers with the insights they need to identify players best suited to join their team.

Scouts are an invaluable part of the championship-winning formula.

Joe Nelson of Minnesota Vikings on SI, however, documented an exercise in which he “instructed Elon Musk’s Grok 3 artificial intelligence to act as an NFL scout with a 180 IQ who is tasked with identifying 10 players at the scouting combine who fit the Minnesota Vikings’ biggest needs ahead of the 2025 season.”

When Nelson asked for clarification, Grok informed that it decided its list by evaluating Minnesota’s roster and determining the Vikings had to nail down a starter with their first-rounder (24th overall).

Here’s the catalog of players settled on by Grok, accompanied by supplemental info on half of them:

1. Tyler Booker, IOL, Alabama

Booker gave up a single sack over 849 pass-blocking snaps in his career, according to Pro Football Focus.

2. Donovan Jackson, IOL, Ohio State

Jackson played 634 snaps on the left side of the offensive line in 2024 – 348 at tackle and 286 at guard.
