How Daniel Jeremiah thinks the Saints could copy the Eagles’ homework

The New Orleans Saints now have a Super Bowl winner as their head coach, with the former offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles Kellen Moore joining up to take a crack at it once again from a new perspective. Moore will look to break out from the shadow of Nick Sirianni to create his own scheme, roster, and culture.

One of the things that does happen rather often in the NFL is teams attempting to replicate the success they see. We have seen it before with the dynasty New England Patriots and their coaches being poached on a yearly basis, the Kansas City Chiefs and their coaches finding new spots at times, and many other instances.

Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network believes this may be the case with the Saints in 2025, potentially looking to replicate the 2024 Super Bowl-winning Philadelphia Eagles.

“That’s going to be curious to me what direction they go position-wise because I just think Kellen Moore coming off of the year he had and seeing the value in the trenches and what they had in Philadelphia, I just would be surprised if they went anywhere outside O-line, D-line,” Jeremiah said. “I’d be curious to see, we call it a copycat league, people paying attention to the teams that are playing well and winning, and coming off of a Super Bowl that was just dominated at the line of scrimmage and you have the coach who was involved in that game, that’s why I was leaning more towards that side of things than a skill guy.”

Hearing the Saints would likely go trenches is a good start, with the defensive line nearly in tatters after 2024, and the offensive line in desperate need of a left guard, it makes sense overall that they would look there first. If they wish to replicate the Eagles, it will take time and effort, including many additions on the defensive line, and eventually the possibility of a new quarterback, but it seems within the realm of reality that they could try this method.
