Panthers not putting ‘any timeline’ on RB Jonathon Brooks’ recovery

Panthers not putting ‘any timeline’ on RB Jonathon Brooks’ recovery

As expected, we won’t know when to expect the return of Carolina Panthers running back Jonathon Brooks.

Brooks was a topic of discussion at today’s media availability from the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, where president of football operations and general manager Dan Morgan fielded questions. Morgan was asked about the outlook for Brooks, who sustained the second ACL tear to his right knee in as many years.

“I don’t think we’re really gonna put any timeline on Brooks,” Morgan stated. “Obviously, he had a surgery on the same ACL. Really unfortunate injury. Definitely disappointed for him, disappointed for us. But yeah, not gonna put any timeline on it now and we’ll just kinda see where it goes.”

The Panthers, despite the first ACL tear from November of 2023, traded up to select Brooks in the second round of last year’s draft. His recovery caused him to miss the first 10 games of his rookie campaign, with his debut having to wait until the Week 12 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Two weeks later, in the team’s visit to Philadelphia, Brooks tore the same ACL on his first carry of the game. He was later placed on injured reserve and underwent surgery in January.
