Panthers WR Xavier Legette underwent a ‘little procedure’ on foot

Carolina Panthers wideout Xavier Legette did end up going under the knife after all this offseason. But the cause for the procedure may not have been the obvious one.

President of football operations and general manager Dan Morgan spoke to reporters from the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday. He was asked for an update on Legette, who hinted at needing wrist surgery during the season.

“So nothing with the wrist,” Morgan replied. “Our doctors and his side evaluated that and felt like surgery wasn’t needed. I think it needs an offseason just to kinda heal up a little bit from the wrist perspective.

“From the foot perspective, he was having some discomfort in his foot pretty much all season. So we decided to do a little procedure on that. In terms of recovery, I think it’s more short-term, so he’ll be running sooner than later.”

Legette sustained a foot injury during training camp back in August. X-ray and MRI results on the rookie came back clean at the time, according to head coach Dave Canales.

The 2024 first-round pick also dealt with a hip injury that caused him to miss the team’s Week 16 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
